Victim’s family reaches Allahabad HC for release from illegal confinement by UP administration
The family of Hathras gang rape victim has filed a habeas corpus please in the Allahabad High Court.
The application has been filed by Social worker Surendra Kumar. It has been said in the application that due to the restrictions of police-administration, the victim’s family has remained imprisoned at home.
They have demanded complete exemption to meet people and keep their talk open.
It was said in the application that due to restrictions, many people are not able to come. The family is not able to openly speak to anyone. Also, there are allegations on the government staff that they are not allowing them to get out of the house. It was said in the application that to get justice, it is necessary to remove the restrictions from the victim family. The victim’s family has called them to file an application on their behalf and demanded intervention from the court. There has also been a demand for hearing on an Argentine basis. A hearing in this matter can be held today in the High Court.
The Uttar Pradesh government has tightened the security of the victim’s family. Each family member has been given security of two policemen. With this, a metal detector has been installed at the entry point of the house and the name and address of every movement is being recorded. Apart from this, CCTV cameras have also been installed in the house.
Two security personnel have been provided by the state government for every member of the victim’s family. However, now before going anywhere, the victim’s family will have to inform the security personnel, only then the system will be in place. Also, additional force has been deployed in the village.
Now the Court had asked for their presence before it when it takes up the matter on October 12.
