The schools high handedly refrained the orders of the administration and approached High Court against such order’s:-
Schools challenged the orders of the Administration in High Court to upload the balance sheets over the website. The court considering the matter stayed the proceedings to the 8th of June.
The city’s private school organisation “Independent Schools Association”, Saupins School and Saint Soldier School challenged the orders of the Administration while presenting a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court to upload the balance sheet over the website.
The Bench of Justice RK Jain and Justice Ashok Kumar Verma without stating any orders stayed the matter till 8th of June.
Independent Schools Association, Saupins School and Saint Soldier School instated its petition that government of Punjab made Punjab Regulation of Fees of Unaided Educational Institution Act for regulating the fees of Private Unaided Schools.
Central Government while exercising in the powers conferred under section 87 implemented by act in Chandigarh. A body was constituted in September 2018 after the enforcement of the act in Chandigarh.
The Chandigarh administration after amending the Section 5 clause 4 of the act on 24th April ordered all the private schools to upload the performa of the earning and expenditure statements in the form of balance sheets over the website.
The petitioners organisation stated that the Chandigarh administration is considering to take necessary steps and investigate against the schools who refrained from following the orders stated by the administration.
The schools are already facing economic crisis due to the pandemic of covid-19 and in such a situation the schools are under the threat that actions would be taken against the functioning by the administration whereas the whole account statement is already submitted with the concerned authorities.
