Supreme Court dismisses the petition filed against PM Cares Fund
After the corona virus infection, the PM Care Fund was formed under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On the call of the Prime Minister, from the common people in this fund donated their respective accounts. The fund was also challenged in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court on Monday rejected a petition challenging the constitutional validity of the formation of the PM Cares Fund to deal with epidemics such as the Corona virus.
A division bench of Justice NV Raman, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice BR Gavai quashed the plea of advocate Sathwat Anand during the hearing conducted through video conferencing. The court resented Anand for filing such a petition and dismissed the petition within a minute.
During the hearing, Anand asked the bench to listen to his request for at least two minutes, but the bench said in a resentful tone that the petition made a political smell. After Anand’s repeated pleas, Justice Raman cautioned him to either withdraw his plea, or the court would impose a fine on him.
