PIL FILED IN SC SEEKING DIRECTIONS TO GOVERNMENT TO CONSIDER ALCOHOL VAPOUR THERAPY FOR COVID-19 TREATMENT.
On 11th May 2020, A Petition has been filed before the Supreme Court seeking directions to the government to consider the issue of approval of Ethanol Vapour or any other kind of suitable Alcohol Therapy for COVID-19 with due pre-clinical research and clinical trials.
The Petitioner is an independent inventor, has also prayed the government to consider the issue of approval of Ethanol Vapour or any kind of suitable Alcohol Vapour Therapy for COVID-19 as a safe self medication for individuals who have the very early symptoms of coronavirus attack as a very preventive treatment prior to the confirmation test to curtail and kill its effects.
The Petitioner also states that COVID-19 virus is going to survive in the world for a long time like a other microorganism, and till the time a considerable size of population gets herd immunity it is necessary to minimize the mortality rate at the possible very low.
The Petitioner is confident that Ethanol vapour therapy as a self medication and in the hospitalization would be very useful for the recovery from virus and to avoid spreading of virus. Ethanol vapour could be very effective in the earlier stages of COVID-19 effects with symptoms and tested positive cases.
The Petitioner Chandrasekaran Ramasamy has also stated that he had sent detailed representation to respondents through E-mail seeking intervention about this issue On April 8th and April 14th 2020, but till date the no action has been taken and no reply has been given regarding the Petitioner’s representation.
