Pakistan HC permits India to appoint lawyer for Kulbhushan Jadhav

As per the latest confirmation made by Attorney Genera Khalid Javed Khan, Pakistan HC has allowed India to appoint lawyer for Kulbhushan Jadhav. The ordinance passed by the High court also states that Lawyer to be appointed must be Pakistani and have permission to practise in Pakistan, India lawyer cannot be appointed. Kulbhushan Jadhav is an Indian prisoner in Pakistan, retired navy officer was sentenced to death by Pakistan Military court on grounds of espionage and terrorism in 2017.

Kubhushan Jadhav case has been adjourned by Islamabad HC court until 3rd September. The court agreed to hear the plea filed by Pakistan government Indian prisoner on the ground of Presidential ordinance as per which decision or judgement of a military court can be reviewed in
a civil court and a two member-bench to hear the petition filed by Pakistani government was formed.
