ONLY 25% LAW STUDENTS HAVE ACCESS TO INTERNET CONNECTIVITY

A Petition was filed before the Supreme Court that challenged the Constitution directions that was given by the Bar Council of India to all the Law universities in the country for conducting the final year law examination and that through online mode.

The Guideline that was issued in 27th may stated that final year law student would be allowed to appear in online Examination and the universities even have the liberty to adopt an alternative strategy.

For immediate Students ,the guidelines prescribed the promotion on the basis of the performance of previous years and marks obtained in internal Examination of the current year.

The Plea filed by the Advocate Gunjan singh  and Pragya Ganjoo on behalf of the law students in which the Notification stated that new date sheets of all programs in Open Book Examination Mode and it would commence from 10th July.

The issue that was raised in which it was stated that 16 year old student in Assam committed suicide because of the he was unable to participate in the online classes as he was not assessed to smart phone.

It further prays for an order for directing alternative system of evaluation to be formulated so to pose complete justice of the poorer section and exclude the possibility of discrimination.
