NO REASON TO DENY ANY BASIC HUMAN RIGHT TO TRANSGENDER COMMUNITY: KERALA HC DIRECTS TO ENSURE SUPPLY OF RATION CARDS, FREE MEDICINES.

A Public Interest Litigation was filed by a Transgender Person, Kerela High Court directed to supply the medicines in consonance with the State government and that too free.

Bench Comprised of Chief Justice S Manikumar and Justice Shaji P Chaly directed that ‘If any member of transgender community approaches the District Authority or any of the Officer appointed for the purpose of issuing gender identity card and the Ration card, necessary steps shall be taken at the earliest for addressing the issue, and after being satisfied issuing to them.

The state of Kerela even stated that they are very bold regarding this matter of Transgender Community and is the first state to implement such a empowerment of the transgender community.

Various Schemes for the overall upliftment and protection of persons belonging to the transgender community for the employment , Marriage assistance, financial aid and sex rearrangement surgery too.

Helpline facility and even the scholarship for the persons belonging to the transgender Community.

Even the horomone therapy.

They will be equally identified with the role of the members of the Community.
