Gujarat HC Launches E-Filing Facility
The Gujarat High Court has launched 5 exclusive counters for Physical Filing of cases that will function from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on all working days.
The counters are setup in the High Court premises and are earmarked as Counter 1, Counter 2, Counter 3, Counter 4 and Counter 5 respectively.
Bail matters, Criminal matters, Civil matters, matters under Article 227 of the Constitution and civil matters involving single a judge will be attended to the respective counters mentioned above in that order.
However, the payment of court fees and filing of affidavits by the petitioners will be optional for now and will have to be submitted when normal and physical functioning of the court resumes.
Keeping in mind safety norms given the covid-19 pandemic situation the court has directed that documents should be delivered in a sealed envelope and only Advocates, or registered clerks will be allowed to enter.

The E-Filing for High Court will be available at https://efiling.ecourts.gov.in/ from 16th August onwards and will accept cases of Criminal Miscellaneous Application, special Criminal application, Writ petition PIL, Admiralty Suit, first appeal, Tax appeal, Letters patent appeal.
Under the Email My Case Status, advocates, litigants, and other public departments can get the status of high Court Cases after online registration.
As the circular,
“EmailMyCaseStatus service by the High Court of Gujarat will effectively serve as a virtual case status inquiry counter or a case status eCounter, with added functionality of getting future updates of the cases of interest to everyone and anyone”
The High Court has also launched an “e-book digest” of important Judgements delivered during the pandemic and it contains important Judgements delivered by the benches from 24th March 2020 to 14th August 2020.
