Delhi HC Stays Probe & Proceedings In FIR Against Ganga Ram Hospital
On Monday,the Delhi High Court has stayed the investigation and proceedings against Ganga Ram Hospital in an FIR registered against it by Government of Delhi for allegedly violating the COVID-19 guidelines.
Justice C Hari Shankar pronounced its order in a petition filed by Sir Ganga Ram Hospital seeking quashing of an FIR filed against it for allegedly violating COVID-19 norms. The FIR has been lodged by the Delhi Police on a complaint by Delhi Government. And the petitioner hospital has also urged the court to set aside the order passed by Delhi Government on june 3 prohibiting RT\PCR sampling for COVID 19 suspect cases.
The FIR has been filed against the medical superintendent of the hospital by the Delhi Government’s Health Department for not using the RT-PCR app for testing data in violation of the Epidemic Disease COVID 19 Regulation,2020.
The FIR has been filed for offences under section 188 of IPC i.e., disobedience to order promulgated by public servant.
