Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court Sh. Indrajit Mahanty tested positive for Coronavirus and working of the court will remain suspended for 3 days.
The Union Law and Justice Ministry on October 2019 appointed Senior Judge Indrajit Mahanty as Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court. Significantly, Justice Indrajit Mahanty was born on 11 November 1960 in Cuttack, Odisha. He did his schooling from Darjeeling, West Bengal and studied in Delhi University. After this he did his LLM from Cambridge University, England. He was a member of the Orissa Bar Council from 1989 to 2006 and on 30 March 2006 became a judge in the Orissa High Court. Mahanti was appointed a judge in the Bombay High Court on 14 November 2018.
On Saturday night Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot wished a speedy recovery to Justice Mahanty he tweeted that,
I have come to know Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court, Sh. Indrajit Mahanty has tested positive for Covid_19…concerned about his health. Wish him a speedy recovery.
It is noteworthy that Justice Mahanty started a tree planting campaign on Saturday morning by planting saplings in the High Court premises here on the occasion of Independence Day.
Looking at the recent results of the COVID-19 tests conducted in the Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur bench, it is reported that the court and office work in the Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur bench, for the COVID-19 test, 17 to 19 will remain suspended until August and the Registrar general of the high court are requested to all the individuals to get themselves tested for COVID-19.
