Chhattisgarh HC: The new plea will not be filed in the High Court for a week from today

Today, the Registrar General of Chhattisgarh High Court issued an order prohibiting the filing of fresh petition in the High Court from Tuesday 22 to 28 September. During this time, necessary cases will be heard via video conferencing.

The Registrar General said in his order that the Collector and District Magistrate have issued a lockdown order declaring the urban body areas as full containment zones from 22 to 28 September 12 at night. The Chhattisgarh High Court is within the boundary of the Bodri Nagar Panchayat.

Later the lockdown will be effective in Bodri Nagar Panchayat. In the order issued, the Registrar General said that on the instructions of the Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court, the filing of fresh petitions in the High Court has been stayed in the lockdown period in view of the terrible situation of corona infection. The court has been asked to keep minimum staff attendance. During this time such cases will also be heard which are very necessary.

This will be after the direction of the Chief Justice whether to list the petition for hearing the case or not. This method will be on the same lines as during the High Court holidays. All officers and employees of the High Court have been directed to follow the lockdown instructions issued by the Collector.

The order issued also stated that after the end of the lockdown period, regular work will be started in the High Court.
