BAR COUNCIL OF INDIA ISSUES GUIDELINES ABOUT LAW SCHOOL EXAMINATION

The BCI has launched new guidelines for promotion of law students to the next year and the criteria for law exams in this ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

BCI allowed final year students of law to appear for online examinations and in case if they have not cleared their previous year paper are required to sit for supplementary examinations, but who have been promoted to final year such final year students will either be allowed to submit a project report or appear in online examinations with regard to the pending /supplementary paper so that they could pass within time .

All law students except the final year students will be promoted on he basis of previous year’s examination and marks obtained in internal examination of the current 5 year.

However, BCI also clarified that the students who are promoted will have their end semester examination for the promoted semester within reasonable period of time, though such promoted students shall continue to study in year which they have been promoted and if they are unable to pass or clear any subject end semester examination he or she will have to clear that examination before completing their degree.

BCI also insisted universities to ensure proper social distancing and sanitation in examination hall and said “the safety and health of the students should not be compromised at all”.
