Delhi HC on Rakul Preet’s Plea: Media Should Show Restraint

Rhea has given the names of 25 celebrities including Rakulpreet Singh, Sara Ali Khan to NCB, which includes the names of Bollywood’s big actors, directors, casting directors, production houses. Based on the statements of the accused, now NCB is going to summon 25 famous celebrities of Bollywood.

Actress Rhea Chakraborty, who was caught by Narcotics Crime Bureau (NCB) after the drug angle surfaced in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, revealed the names of many more Bollywood stars in the entire case. After the name of actress Rakul Preet Singh in the drugs case, she has now reached the Delhi High Court. She has demanded a ban on media coverage against him. She has said that through media reports, an attempt is being made to tarnish her reputation.

The single bench of Judge, Justice Navin Chawla asked the news broadcasters association to consider the present plea as a demonstration and speed up the process of redressal. The court also questioned Rakulpreet that why did he not make an official complaint to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting?

Rakulpreet has said in the petition that the media trial has started after his name surfaced in Rhea Chakraborty case. Rakulpreet has appealed to the court to direct the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to stop the media coverage against him.

In his petition, Rakulpreet said that during the shooting, he came to know that Riya Chakraborty had named him and Sara Ali Khan in the drugs case. After this, many types of misinformation have been started in the media. Advocate Aman Hingorani on behalf of petitioner told the High Court that the media is hacking Rakulpreet.
