2000 women lawyers wrote letter to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah for financial aid

A signature drive began on 21st July 2020, within 40 hours received responses of more than 2000 women lawyer for the letter to Amit Shah for financial aid.

The Representation by the “Advocate of Bharat” seek in the letter to formulate a union policy to provide the practising advocate’s loan up to Rs 5 lakh payable in 36 equal monthly instalments with a moratorium period of one year. It pleaded that excluding the Advocates community in of the scheme launched by the Union of India under the Disaster Management Act amount to a violation of Article 21. The advocates and supporting court staff such as clerk, office boys etc are in the situation of hunger and food security. The absence of aid in violation of the fundamental right such as the right to food, shelter etc under the umbrella of right to life.  

The letter seeks to provide infrastructural backup to all Bar Associations and to make virtual hearing more user friendly, to make access to legal system convenient in the National Health emergency.
