First virtual Lok Adalat by High Court of Karnataka

The High Court Legal Services Committee, Bengaluru had conducted the first Lok Adalat bench comprising of Hon’ble Shri Justice Alok Aradhe, Judge, High Court of Karnataka and Chairman, High Court Legal Services Committee and Sri. Vijay Kumar Patil, Conciliator settled 31 cases pertaining to two Insurance Companies and awarded a compensation of a sum of Rs 62,95,000/- to the Victims of Motor Vehicle Accident.

The need of virtual court was due to spike in Covid-19 confirmed cases and need to deliver the justice on time. It has been created to have effective way to dispose pending cases by the following precautionary measures at the pandemic.  

Advocates and litigant public are requested to make use of virtual Lok Adalat and strive to settle large number of cases during this period.
