Punjab Law university students get High Court relief.
A notice was issued to the Punjab High Court and to the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law from the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday related to not to raise the waive the fee for upcoming Semester.
And Meanwhile the University will also not charge any late fees from the students who are not able to pay till the due date.
Till the time the Students has been asked to deposit the fee till July 10 otherwise 1k will be charged.
The letter signed off by over 720 students of RGNUL points out that amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the consequent damage to the Indian economy, many parents/ guardians find it difficult to pay the fees for the next semester.
It was pointed out that due to the earlier closure of the colleges or campus because of the pandemic, the major fees of the summer has remained unutilised.
It was alleged during the hearing that 50 percent of the fees is charged for amenities, campus development, moot court, examination and library fee plus hostel fee is also charged.

1.Exemption of Annual Increase in Tuition Fees for the next academic session; and
2.Rebate in Late Fees (if any) applicable on payment of fees; and
3.Partial Refund of ‘Fees’ already paid in lieu of the Balance (‘Fees’ including but not limited to Amenities Fee, Moot Court Fee, Mess Fee, Campus Development Fund, portion of Hostel Rent which remain unutilised); or
4.Adjustment of the Balance by appropriate monetary relief in next semester fees.
In light of the aforesaid, it was requested to understand the plight of students and their families, and give the issue and relief(s) a serious consideration. We believe that you will take an appropriate decision in the best interest of all the students, guided by reason, prudence and compassion. We sincerely expect an optimistic response in this matter.
