Criminal Complaint Filed Against Ramdev,Patanjali Over Covid Cure

In Bihar a criminal complaint has been filed alleging cheating by Patanjali’s Founder Baba Ramdev and its CEO, Acharya Balkrishna.

Tamanna Hashmi the social activist  has filed a case, before a court in Muzaffarpur,Bihar seeking registration of FIR for certain offences under the Indian Penal Code,including cheating (section 420),Criminal Conspiracy (section 120B), malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous and to life (section 270) and intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace (section 504).

According to complainant Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna have conspired to cheat the Government and the entire Nation through its false claims. They have intentionally taken such steps that may be a threat to life  or may prove fatal for many people, and have therefore betrayed the entire country. Hashmi submitted that Ramdev and Balkrishna claimed to have prepared “Coronil tablet” to cure COVID 19, which is nothing but misleading. The court will hear the matter on June 30, 2020.
