DELHI HC DIRECTS CONTRACTOR TO SUPPLY 250 PPE KITS TO COVID HOSPITALS AND CREMATORIES

The bench of Justice Nazmi Waziri was hearing plea issued by a contractor registered from name Chaudhary Ventures Pvt. Ltd, his property was sealed by South Delhi Municipal Corporation on grounds of unauthorized construction.

The Delhi HC in response to plea directed the construction contractor to supply 250 PPE kits to the certain government hospitals that are treating and testing corona virus.

Though still the HC allowed the contractor to work as it was sanctioned earlier according to plan but providing of protective gears and equipment was fare enough penalty. Justice Nazmi observed the fact that country is highly affected from the Global Pandemic and therefore frontline officers consistently fighting the virus and their protection is need of the hour and therefore must be provided with protective gears. ICMR approved PPE kits to be supplied.

Court further ordered and directed petitioner to supply 25 PPE kits to Lodi Road crematorium and the Panj Peeran graveyard observing the need of protection to the ones too who are performing last rites of corona casualties.
