Letter to the Hon’ble Chief Justice of High Court of Gauhati: Urging to restore physical court.
Surprisingly, due to lack of personal attention and presence, the Gauhati High Court Bar Association wrote a letter dated 28th May 2020 to the Hon’ble Chief Justice of High Court requesting to restore the physical court from 1st June 2020 onward, urging to abolish the virtual court system which was set due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The background, on 26th May 2020 the Executive Committee meeting of Association took a resolution on the matter that some litigants were unable to get proper justice through Virtual Court System.
Also the Government of Assam on 26th May 2020 urged to open all the government offices with 100% attendance of its employees.
Thus a request was made to the Chief Justice of High Court to resume the physical court with safety norms and to abolish the virtual court system.
Whereas considering the severity, the association requested the Chief Justice of High Court to continue with the working of virtual court system for the practicing Advocates who are above the age of 65.
