KARNATAKA HC RAISES QUESTIONS FOR STATE GOVERNMENT REGARDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO ADVOCATE CLERKS
In this fourth phase of lockdown closure of courts has led scarcity or say no source of income left for the Karnataka State Level Advocates Clerks, therefore Karnataka High Court has asked the state government that in what ways it can provide financial assistance to the Advocate Clerks.
The division bench of CJ Abhay Oka and Justice Sachin Shankar Magadum made aware about the release of certain funds to help junior member of bar and also advocates clerk who are in need of financial resources.
On the last hearing the court had asked the association to take proceedings against the Advocates Association of Bengaluru and Karnataka state Bar Council. The court was made informed about the joint meeting of Advocates Association of Bengaluru and Karnataka State Bar Council on May 26 to discuss about issue but no solid action or suggestion was recorded.
The bench again asked the respected association and council to handle and allocate funds carefully to the petitioner bar and can also impose some conditions in order to ensure fair monetary benefit. The court will hear matter on 2 june.
