“NGT TAKES COGNIZANCE OF VIZAG GAS LEAK TRAGEDY”
The National Green Tribunal has taken cognizance of the tragedy caused by chemical gas leak at vizag in Andhra Pradesh.
A bench headed by NGT chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel will take up on Friday.
An NGO, Center for wildlife and Environmental Litigation Foundation, has sought the constitution of a high level committee and comprising the judges and officers who are not below the rank of Joint Secretary for probe the incident.
The National Human Rights Commission had taken the Suo Moto Cognizance of the deaths and humans who are sufferings problems caused by the tragedy and then issued notice to the Central Governance Andhra Pradesh Government.
During the week hours of Thursday, a major leak of styrene gas had occurred from a polymer plant located near Visakhapatnam which impact the villages in a 5-km radius and because of the leakage of gas many people died and also many of the citizens are suffering from breathlessness and other problems.
Now, the matter on ‘Gas leak at LG Polymers Chemical Plant In RR Venkatapuram Village will take up on Friday by the Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel ‘ A bench headed by NGT Chairperson’.
